The Hideaway Reviews

Probably the nicest dog friendly cottage we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in quite a few! The cottage was very comfortable with lots of welcoming treats...for our red setter and her owners
Katherine
This was our first time away with our 9month old pup and The Hideaway was just perfect. Spotlessly clean with huge attention to detail from choice of furnishings and a comfortable king size bed, to a generous welcome hamper thank you! The enclosed minimalist garden was perfect for our pup a safe space to be outside and away from excitable distractions. The owners also thoughtfully provided doggy towels, waterfood bowls and a welcome biscuit. We didnt use the hot tub but only because it wouldnt have been a relaxing experience with the pup. The location is great, just a short drive from a number of doggyfriendly beaches we especially enjoyed the beach and dunes at Uphill. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay!
Gordon
The property was very nice , the owner went above and beyond , she also left a small welcome gift which was really nice , can't wait to visit again . If we had to find a fault it would be that the pillows were soft but we never asked if she had any firmer ones as we always take our own as we like very firm pillows this is not a complaint at all
This is a lovely little place with everything you need for a chilled relaxed break.
Colin Michael

Above average accomadation. Friendly and helpful owner. Great enclosed garden for the dog. Plenty of parking.
Annarita
We had a fantastic stay. The house was spotless and matched the pictures perfectly. Our dogs loved the enclosed garden. We were looking for a relaxing and calming area, and we found just that. The owners were very nice and welcoming, and we really appreciated the welcome pack that included bread, mince pies, and beverages. Nearby, there are lovely towns worth visiting, such as WestonsuperMare and Glastonbury. I would 100 recommend this place.
Absolutely perfect in every way for what we needed. So cozy and comfortable. It was late when we arrived so I spent a few minutes looking for a key safe skyes instructions but then spotted the keys in the garden door! Just wasnt sure if I was breaking into someones property for a minute
Absolutely perfect. On arrival there was a lovely goody box including fresh cakes and bread. We had forgotten our dog bowl, but no problem as one was supplied. The property owners were extremely welcoming and really have nothing but praise for the cottage.
The Hideaway is comfortable, warm and clean. I was very happy with the generous welcome pack including cake, cider, bread etc. The garden was lovely and private with loungers to make the most of the autumn sunshine. I would definatly recommend.
Michael
A lovely place A lovely time. Thank you all.
We were very happy with our week at The Hideaway. It was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. We appreciated the welcome pack including cakes and a loaf of bread. One small suggestion to improve the property would be to put a shelf in the bathroom, and also a small shelf in the shower cubicle. Otherwise the property was ideal.
What a lovely place the small things hand soap washing up liquid things like that really nice . Host were really nice and polite
Sharron
Great place to stay and the garden was very secure especially having two dog's. Welcome park on arrival and very clean. There was even a dog blanket bowl and treats. Only downside was not having a door on the bedroom, but wouldn't stop us from returning.
Jackie
The Hideaway was immaculate throughout, very comfortable and on arrival was welcomed with a lovely pack with some cake's. The secluded garden was great for our little dog, but unfortunately wasnt as quiet as we hoped with the noise of the trains. The hot tub isnt as easy to start as wed hoped so we gave up. Not being experienced fire starters found it impossible with no kindling. Apart from that would highly recommend.
Joanne
This really was a perfect hide away break , the generous welcome pack was amazing touch , Hot tub took a little while to get use to how much logs to put in to heat it up , but worked it out. So quiet and perfect for couples and doggy friends as garden is enclosed Nothing but praise you do a outstanding job on this property
Jackie
Lovely location, the Hideaway was great with the hot tub, which took a while to get started. the garden is great which was just right for our dog who is very anxious. The Hideaway could do with either a linen line or airer to dry out the lovely towels especially after a shower or the lovely robes which are for use after using the hot tub. Luckily for us we had a very hot week and better more comfy garden furnisher would have been nice. The inside was just right and the bed and bed linen were very good. Would recommend this to others
A perfect stay. This is the second time we have stayed at Hope Farm. It is perfectly situated for all the tourist hot spots near WestonSuper Mare The accommodation is first class in a lovely quiet location. The Hideaway was perfect for us with our two dogs as it has a private garden. Jane is on hand to help if there are any problems and provides a lovely welcome basket. Highly recommend and will definitely come back.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hideaway. Welcome pack was lovely Cakes excellent and cider very good we are now confirmed cider drinkers! The garden was great for our dogs . Buddy our Jack Russell did manage to get up the side of the shed.we kept him out afterwards using the ornamental wheelbarrow planter! We covered the sofa with covers we use at home for ours.our dogs are very much sofa surfers. Unfortunately we found it a squeeze. Bed was comfortable and shower great.Towels and gowns provided! Good to have the air conditioning on hand though we didn't use it. The hot tub was great after a very hot afternoon in Bath of all places. We recommend it to anyone with small to medium size dogs as long as they aren't sofa surfers like ours. Very well situated for Somerset and North Devon coast.Cheddar Wells and Glastonbury too! We would like to return in the future!
Beautiful cottage, hot tub was great at the end of the day after a busy visit to Wookey Hole and the beach. Faultless property with a walled garden which was great for two little dogs.
Cheryl
We have just returned from a short bank holiday break with our small dog Patch, the hideaway was a lovely private space for us all to relax! The Property has everything you need for a relaxed, self contained stay. There was a wonderful welcome pack with cakes and fresh bread very kind and the apple juice was lovely! Patch had a bone, towel and blanket waiting that was a lovely touch! The hot tub was perfect, took us a little while to get the hang of it but we thoroughly enjoyed it and the fluffy robes were perfect after we dried off... love the touch of the hanger in the tree
A well appointed beautifully turned out little cottage. Lovely little garden area for my dog. Quiet and peaceful ideal for a retreat from the busy world.
We had a lovely new years break, weather was awful but we made the most of visiting the local towns and beaches. The outdoor solar light wasn't working, but Jane kindly dropped us off some new ones thank you! The only recommendation would be a drying rack for our clothes and towels, as we had alot of wet items from using the hot tub and all the rain, apart from that everything we needed, many thanks
Andrea
We had a lovely stay at the Hideaway, it was cosy, warm and quiet. Just what we needed!
Cottage was not as clean as it should have bern. Garden had dogs poo in it from previous people. The garden had no light as the light was broken so a hazzard as ot was pitch black. The hot tub cover and area was full of rotten apples from the tree and had not been cleared. The lounge doors leading to the garden and exit was in a poor state and you had to really push to open and same to close it, the door had dropped but had not been put right. Areas in the cottage had not been cleaned and was dirty. We left early and not staying the full time we had paid for. And did Sykes care? Not at all and had the cheek to give us a 25 voucher to use in the future. Like we would ever use Sykes again!!
Gillian
Cozy little cottage adjoining the owners' farmhouse and hidden away from other cottages in the pretty courtyard of converted barns on this 400 year old farm. The owners have thought of everything, a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed, powerful shower, fresh bread, cakes, cider, apple juice, farm fresh milk and best of all the wood fired hot tub the pond as we renamed it. There is nothing quite like relaxing in a steamy tub looking up at the stars. Great location for exploring Somerset too. Just a short drive to Brean or Burnham on Sea with their huge beaches and typical British seaside fun. A short drive inland to the Mendip Hills, Somerset Levels and dreamy Glastonbury. Lots of lovely small towns and villages to explore. Farm shops and cider farms at regular intervals with their delicious produce and to top it off some of the most welcoming and friendly people we have ever met on our travels. We will return soon. For a delicious breakfast very nearby Ollie's Cafe on Bristol Road in Brent Knoll is well worth a visit.
This was our first visit to The Hideaway and it is possibly the best holiday property we've ever booked. It certainly is hidden away and is very quiet & private located within a small but beautiful period walled garden. We had 2 dogs who absolutely loved it, plus the garden is completely enclosed & safe which removes our usual worries. The cottage is located within the owner's farm & property and is a brilliant & lovely setting for a peaceful break. Jane's dog became my friend and was always quietly waiting for my next appearance with a treat! It is a fantastic place to stay and we will be back again sometime next year. Thoroughly recommended. Jeff
Really enjoyed our week. Perfect for 2 and our dog
Patricia
A lovely cottage with everything that you need in it. We got a verry nice welcome from Jane and her dog. A lovely welcome pack was waiting for us. Can't fault anything. A big thankyou to Jane from Tricia and John.
Yes, we enjoyed our comfortable Hideaway home from home & plan to return
Fabulous property. Very comfy with lovely furnishings and bedding. Hot tub great but takes time to fire up. 23 hours Great when going though. 2 tiny things. 2 extra large wine glasses and water glasses as only 2 of each and a garden chair or bench to relax on. Had perfect stay. Thank you.
Excellent Hideaway, our dog was able to roam in the garden and there were fields we could take him on his lead. Very clean, all facilities were available. We felt spoilt. Thankyou
A first class, superb facility supported by a wonderful on site owner who facilated additional needs and local information, this niche facility truely was a hideaway and no doubt a west country natural gem. Particularly worthy of mention was the welcome pack hamper consisting of local produce from fresh bread to jams and even a local supplied bottle of cider. Will definately return here again, everything has been thought of even down to superb garden hot tub.
Melanie
Fabulous week at the Hideaway, welcome pack a really nice touch. The hot tub is to much bother to get up and running so we didnt use it but other then that would recommend staying at the hideaway with your pet.
If you need a relaxing break then this is the place to go. When we arrived the cottage was spotless and had a nice welcome basket of goodies for us and our two dogs. The bed and bedding are very comfortable, with all new fixtures and fittings throughout. The Hideaways garden is very secure meaning you can let the dogs roam outside without worrying that they will escape. A welcome addition is the Hot Tub to relax after a busy day exploring the area. Nicely situated for the local beaches with Cheddar Gorge only 20 minutes away. Jane who is very friendly lives on site, so any problems she is there for you.
Siobhan
Lovely little home away from home, has everything you would want for a break away. Host Jane was really helpful, and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. An indoor broom or floor cleaning device would be helpful as floor got dirty quickly other than that fantastic!
Timothy
Property was wonderful. Everything you needed was there including Dressing gowns, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid... everything, including a wonderful Welcome pack of Bread, butter, jam, bottle of Cider, bottle apple juice & cakes. Property was clean & tidy. We enjoyed the Hot Tub, but next time we go we would take our own wood from a local source as we had to buy from a garage & that seem very expensive as a bag per use of the Hot tub. The whole set up was lovely, well worth booking & very private. Enclosed garden for the dog was also great.
Perfect accommodation. Great location for visiting places of interest in the area. Jane is a brilliant host lovely welcome pack, thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks Jane and best wishes to you and your family for the future. Youre doing a great job!
