Platform 9 3/4, Taunton

We had a lovely stay at Platform 9 3/4.The accommodation itself is decorated well, it had a well equipped kitchen with everything we needed. Big TV, lovely bathrooms and possibly the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! We had a little welcome hamper on arrival too. The garden is lovely, our spaniel loved having access to this via the double doors. We also got to see two heron's flying into the adjacent garden. Hot tub was an added bonus ????The accommodation itself was very clean and tidy, the only issue we had was that some of the cutlery/glasses/tableware had been put away unclean by the previous guests (I think the dishwasher itself just needs a clean) which meant we needed to give them a wash in the sink. The house is next to a train track which I was a little worried about. They do run quite regularly throughout the day but by the second day we had gotten used to this. They give a little toot further up the track and they did this up until about 10.30pm ish and then started again about 6am. The accommodation has quick thick heavy doors so the train noise did seem quieter in the bedrooms.We used the food recommendations from the helpful welcome pack and had a Chinese from The Phoenix and also visiting the Bathpool Inn. Both of which were nice. The accommodation owners were lovely and we even got to meet their two dogs Daisy and Duke. We would visit again if we were looking to stay in the area. Platform 9 &3/4 is the perfect destination for holiday makers. This little house is safe and secure in the grounds of the owners property which is gated for extra security. You have your own parking places and entrance to the house. The back garden totally secure and perfect if you have a dog, our dog loved being able to come and go in the garden. Hot tub was a welcome addition especially with the hot weather.The house has everything you would need to be home from home, comfortable beds and just a lovely place to stay. Info folder with lots of information, where to eat, places to go etc. Would definitely recommend The Merry Monk for a carvery!!Mandy and Jon were so helpfuland friendly and the welcome basket was a welcome addition on arrival. Just lovely. Thank you ????
